Fixtures for preliminary phase of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Play-Off Tournament confirmed following draw

  • Tournament to determine final three qualified teams for next year’s showpiece event in Brazil

  • Chinese Taipei, Ecuador, Ghana, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and Uzbekistan set to contest preliminary phase

The draw for the preliminary phase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Play-Off Tournament took place today at the Home of FIFA in Zurich as the six participating teams learned their fate.

On the first matchday, Uzbekistan will face Papua New Guinea, Chinese Taipei are set to take on South Africa and Ghana will square off against Ecuador. The full list of preliminary-phase fixtures and a review of the draw event are now available on FIFA.com. During the preliminary phase, each participating team will contest three matches, with the sides that finish first and second advancing to the final phase.

The nine-game preliminary phase is scheduled to take place during the international window that runs from 24 November to 5 December 2026, with the final phase to be contested within the window that starts on 23 February and ends on 6 March 2027. The venues, dates and kick-off times of the matches will be confirmed in due course.
